Institution · 01
Saarikivi Gallery is an independent art house in formation: a digital Gallery today, and a framework for exhibitions, archive, scholarship, collecting and future hospitality.
Purpose
A serious institution can begin before it has a building, but not before it has principles.
To make room for art that asks for contemplation, cultural sensitivity and an honest record.
Working principles
Quiet authority is built through what the Gallery refuses to exaggerate.
01
Works are given room, scale and time. The encounter is not organised around urgency.
02
Authorship, process and uncertainty are recorded without invented identities or claims.
03
Catalogue and archive preserve the conditions in which a work entered public life.
04
The future institution is imagined as a place where art, reading and conversation may coexist.
What exists now
One current exhibition
Six public works
One provenance ledger
